We have just come back from Chicago, the windy city! What I took away from this whole venture is that there are there are a lot of companies that do understand RFID technology or how to implement it in their business. In regards to the technology, there is a tendency to not see the forest for the trees. Most associate RFID with the asset tracking efforts made almost a decade ago and a few recognize the tech’s use in mobile banking and payments (e.g. Apple Pay). However, the applications RFID expand beyond what it is used for today. In my personal opinion, Freehand needs to rethink our strategy when we discuss RFID with our clients. The science and standards are not difficult things to grasp but there is no palatable explanation of these concepts out there at the moment. To this end, I will personally be working on a presentation that will be made publicly available on this site for download or stream. Being concise will be key. Freehand Engineering prides itself in being “RFID Sherpas” and hopefully a solid introduction to the technology will help us guide our clients into a sustainable implementation of RFID within their company.
